Leadership Columbia, a program of the Columbia Chamber presented by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, brings together emerging and established leaders from across the Midlands for an immersive, 10-month leadership experience. Michael is one of just 58 individuals chosen for this year's class.
Candidates are selected through a competitive process, with separate panels of Leadership Columbia alumni scoring applications and interviews. Selection is based on: ✓ Civic involvement ✓ Leadership potential ✓ Diversity of perspective ✓ Commitment to the program and the community
Over the next 10 months, the class will take part in monthly class day sessions, a retreat, a class project, and a range of enrichment activities designed to give participants a behind-the-scenes look at what makes the Midlands such a unique place to live and work.
"We couldn't be more excited to kick off the 2027 cohort of Leadership Columbia with this outstanding group of people! Over the next year, the class will get a behind the scenes look at what makes the Midlands such an incredible place. They'll hear from high level speakers, grow in their personal & professional leadership, and build community, while making an impact on Columbia," said Nic Collins, Leadership Columbia Advisory Board Chair.
Michael's participation reflects our company's continued commitment to community engagement and leadership development, values we're proud to see represented at the highest level of our organization. Over the coming year, he'll be building relationships with the region's current and future leaders while deepening his own understanding of the community we serve.
Please join us in congratulating Michael on this well-deserved honor!
